Anubias barteri var. nana is among the most beginner-friendly aquarium plants, originating from West Africa and growing from a horizontal rhizome that must never be buried in substrate. Instead, it should be attached to rocks or driftwood with fishing line or thread. It tolerates low light and requires no CO2 injection, making it nearly indestructible and ideal for low-tech or community aquariums.
