The One-lined Pencilfish is a slender, torpedo-shaped fish from the Amazon and Orinoco basins, characterized by a single bold dark horizontal stripe from snout to tail. It is a peaceful, somewhat shy species that tends to swim in the upper and middle water column. It does best in groups in densely planted tanks with soft, acidic water.
